How do I switch to Origin Broadband?
Simply place your order online or with one of our advisors over the phone. We'll take it from there and arrange the transfer with your current supplier. If you're switching from a cable provider, you'll need to cancel your previous service directly.
Do I need line rental to have broadband?
All of our residential products require a phone line to deliver your service. If you're concerned about the cost of line rental, we offer a range of Saver options which allow you to pay upfront to save money.
What speeds will I receive?
There's no way to give a 100% accurate estimate before you go live, but we'll always provide the fastest speeds that your line can support. Your achievable broadband speed depends on a range of variables, including your distance from your local exchange, the quality of the wiring, and how far you are from the cabinet.
Why should I choose fibre broadband?
Fibre broadband is faster, more reliable, and better value-for-money than ADSL connections. It will allow you to do more online, especially in busy households with multiple users and devices connected at one.
Can I use my own router?
Absolutely - there's an option to select 'no router' when you order your service. If you'd like to use your own router, please ensure that it is compatible with the service you're ordering. If in doubt, our tech team will be happy to assist!
Does line rental include any calls?
Our line rental packages are pay-as-you-go as standard, but we do offer a range of inclusive call packages, including Evening & Weekend, and Anytime calls which can be added to any package when you place an order.

Can I keep my current phone number?
You're able to keep your current phone number when transferring from most phone line providers, but this isn't always 100% guaranteed. If in doubt, our friendly team of advisors will be happy to double check.
How much does it cost to install a new phone line?
It costs £48 to install a new phone line if you don't currently have one going into your building.
What call features are available?
We offer a range of optional call features, including voicemail, last call return, call barring, caller display, and call diversion, many of which are free of charge. You can add these features to your service during the order process.
What is a Supersaver?
Supersavers are our range of packages designed with you in mind. By paying for your entire contract term up front you're able to save money, remove the hassle of paying a bill every month, and guarantee a great standard of service for months to come!
How much can I save by paying in advance?

The saving you achieve depends on which supersaver package you take:

  • Origin Broadband 12-month – 12.5%
  • Origin Broadband 24-month – 25%
  • Origin Fibre 18-month – 9%
  • Origin Max 24-month – 9%
What happens if I move house half way through my term?
We charge the small fee of £29.99 for a house move, but we'll still honour any upfront payments that you've made. If you'd like to learn more, please contact our customer service team.
Do Supersaver package include any calls?
Our Supersaver packages come with pay-as-you-go calls as standard. If you'd like to purchase a call plan alongside your Supersaver, you have the choice of paying monthly, or paying upfront. More information on pay-as-you-go call tariffs can be found here.
